IWC is non-government and Aboriginal community-controlled, and the ethos of our Dental Practice reflects the organisation’s charitable status and cultural responsiveness.

A primary expectation on IWC Dental Practice is to provide affordable, client-centric dental care that offers patients choice and ownership of treatment.

For IWC Dental practitioners, pain relief and stabilisation will tend to take priority over restoration procedures that may be more usual in other practices.

Accessing IWC Dental Practice

IWC Dental Practice offers the highest standard of patient care, and is open to everyone, without barriers.

 

We are committed to promoting health, wellbeing and disease prevention to all patients, and offer affordable dental service billing. 

  • We welcome Department of Veterans' Affairs cardholders.

  • We offer bulk-billed dental for children under the Dental Benefits Scheme. We can check eligibility. Just call 1300 492 492

  • We offer HICAPS fund claiming if you have private health insurance

IWC Dental Practice subscribes to the Australian Charter of Healthcare Rights.

Procedures We Offer

We offer:

  • Comprehensive check-up

  • Scaling and polishing

  • Tooth-coloured fillings

  • Extractions

  • Root canal treatment

  • Wisdom tooth removal

  • Teeth whitening

  • Cosmetic dentistry

We offer sedation dentistry, using laughing gas (nitrous oxide) that relaxes our clients / patients.

Appointments

 

Consultations are usually 30 minutes but longer appointments are available where required. At the discretion of the dentist, home and nursing home visits may be arranged with our reception staff.  To make an appointment please call IWC Dental on 1300 492 492.

Urgent Appointments

We have a stand-by system for urgent appointments.  Children with worrying dental pain will be seen at the earliest available opportunity.  

 

Keeping Your Appointments On Time

If you have multiple issues that need to be addressed with the dentist, please inform the reception staff at the time of booking to allow for a longer consultation time.  Our reception staff can assist with appointment times required and payments. 

Translator Services

Should you require a translator or interpreter please advise reception and they will arrange a time convenient to book one for you.

 

Feedback

If you have a suggestion on how we can improve the practice, we would like to hear about it. You may wish to complete a patient compliments/complaints/feedback form available in the waiting area and place in the locked box located in the front waiting area or post to Management of IWC.

Recalls

Our practice is committed to preventive care. We may issue you with a recall notice from time to time offering you preventive health services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be part of this system please let us know at reception.

Transport

If you live within 7km of the IWC Dental Practice, you may be eligible for IWC transport to and from your appointments. This is designed to support people who may otherwise be unable to attend an IWC Dental Practice appointment. Transport also may be available for longer journeys if you live in North Burnett and are an IWC client.
