Why do I need a Teeth Whitening?
Poor oral hygiene, smoking, plaque buildup, age, acid from food and drink, and faded enamel all contribute to discolouration of teeth.
Please note that teeth whitening can cause tooth sensitivity, which should be considered when deciding to undergo the procedure.
Process of Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening can be completed in one appointment. A gel is used to protect your gums, while a solution containing hydrogen peroxide is applied to the surface of the teeth, which is then exposed to bright light. This causes oxygen to be released, which lifts stains off the teeth and whitens the dentin.
Normal oral care should continue after a teeth whitening treatment. Consistent regular brushing and flossing along with regular professional cleans will prolong the life of the whitening treatment. Tooth sensitivity can occur.
