Community gets behind Charity Golf Day

THE North Burnett community has got behind an Charity Golf Day being run by IWC and Gayndah Golf Club to raise funds for LifeFlight.

“The event is being held on Saturday July 7 at Gayndah Golf Club,” said IWC North Burnett Assistant Manager Cynthia George. “It is being held to celebrate NAIDOC Week 2018 and Reconciliation Week 2018, and is inclusive. We invite everyone to be part of this, no matter what your skill level as a golfer. The cost is $20 per player.

“If you don’t want to play, come along as a spectator and cheer everyone on – as well as helping us raise funds for LifeFlight, which provides a vital service for our community.

“There will be rolling raffles that everyone can enter – we are selling tickets prior to the event as well as on the day – and prizes for players. There also will be a barbecue.”

IWC is non-government, community-run and a registered charity, offering services to both Indigenous and non-Indigenous across the North Burnett.

Cynthia said the community has thrown its full-hearted support behind the event.

“This is the first Charity Golf Day IWC has organised with Gayndah Golf Club, and the donations from businesses have been outstanding.

Raffle prizes include a $175 accommodation from The Zen Den in Agnes Water, an $88 facial voucher from Leah’s Essential Beauty in Gayndah, and a $180 photography voucher from Lyn McConnell Photography in Bundaberg.

Plus all of these businesses, as well as IWC and LifeFlight, have provided generous donations of vouchers and other prizes:
