IWC launches new wellbeing initiative

IWC is launching a new initiative to support personal empowerment around health and wellbeing in our communities.

In April 2021, IWC Physiotherapist Scott Davis will start delivering a new session for people of all ages who are at risk of falling or fractures. Come to a session once or come along regularly – it’s up to you.

At these sessions, participants will undertake a range of movement, balance and weight-bearing activities as guided by Scott. The sessions will be delivered in small groups of 6-8 people. People of all ages can be at risk of falling or fractures for a range of reasons including, but not limited to: Diabetes; Arthritis; Stroke; Low or high blood pressure; Poor nutrition; Parkinson’s Disease; Bouts of dizziness; lung condition; Osteoporosis; A heart condition; or Epilepsy. Even short-term illnesses, such as the flu or other infections, can temporarily increase your risk of falling.

The one-hour small-group sessions will be held on Level 1, Building 2 of the IWC Health & Wellbeing Complex at 184 Barolin St, Bundaberg. No referral is needed to take part in these sessions.
