Child Protection Reform Amendment Act:
Since the Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women’s last communique in March 2018, work has been ongoing to prepare the sector for the start of the changes being made through the Child Protection Reform Amendment Act 2017 (CPRAA).
The Department has stated that it is taking a staged approach to implementation, and is proposing that the following amendments start in late July:
Intervention with Parental Agreement
Vaccinations
Temporary Custody Orders
Research
Use of Information by the Queensland Police Service
Publication of information regarding child witnesses
A factsheet with further information on these changes has been prepared by the Department and can be downloaded here (see below), along with a poster / flyer about the changes (right).
The Department has said that further communication regarding the commencement date will be undertaken in due course.
