Families' Wellbeing

The IWC Families’ Wellbeing Program offers general wellbeing and mental health support for Indigenous youth, children and adults.

It offers:

  • Therapeutic education and support to

  • individuals and families.

  • Assistance in managing mental health issues, general wellbeing and family stressors.

  • Child development support (risk factor screening).

The program aims to empower through the sharing of strategies which enable individuals and families to identify underlying

problem areas in family relationships.

It enables clients to gain valuable life skills, knowledge and awareness.


Through this, it strengthens their capacity to deal with family issues, resulting in more positive family relationships.

IWC's Families' Wellbeing Program holds Play & Learn sessions each school holidays to support literacy among primary school-age children and their parents / carers in our communities.


The Families’ Wellbeing program provides interactive and non-invasive services to individuals and families who may require help or support.

Services include:

  • Child development, including speech and language testing.

  • Education around parenting and relationships.

  • Individual and group-based therapy and services.

  • Case management.

  • Access to psychology services if a need is identified
