A Deadly Day of Connection at the IWC Elders Lunch

It was a deadly day of good food, music, laughter and connection at our recent IWC Elders Lunch.
The event brought our community together for a relaxed day of sharing a yarn, enjoying a feed and spending time with one another.
The celebration reflected what NAIDOC is all about - recognising the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples while looking towards the future.
For IWC, creating opportunities for community to come together is an important part of supporting wellbeing. Connection matters, and days like this create space for people to feel welcomed, valued and part of something bigger.
From the moment people arrived, the space was full of energy. Tables were filled with community members catching up, sharing a feed and enjoying each other’s company, while the stage brought people together through music, stories and entertainment.
One of the highlights was the beautifully prepared food cooked over the fire pits. The smell of the food, the shared meals and the relaxed atmosphere created a warm and welcoming space for everyone to come together.
