Helping others gives happiness to Theresa

Local community member Theresa Martin has stopped in at IWC with boxes overflowing with products destined for those in need, including being at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

Pictured with Dylan Green and Agnes Vaeagi of the IWC Communities team, the former Drug ARM employee said she has lived in Bundaberg for 15 years, and has worked with homeless people over the past 10 months as a community support officer.

With more than 10 years’ experience in the community sector, she has seen first-hand the benefits of support for those on hard times. As she downsizes things in her own life, she wanted to donate blankets and hygiene pack items to IWC, so that local staff could continue to make a difference.

“I really believe in paying it forward – give, and it shall be given to you. It’s just the way I was raised,” she said.

IWC provides hygiene packs to those in need, which help to promote health and wellbeing among people in need. We thank the community for your ongoing support for the initiative.
