Fees List Register
offers fair access to appointments to ensure patients / clients are seen in a
timely manner appropriate to their care needs. There is a strong demand for our
services, with fast-growing client / patient numbers. In addition, our services
have been put under financial pressure due to the ongoing decision by the
Government to freeze Medicare payments.
To work for
the highest good of all in our communities, IWC requires patients / clients to
take the personal responsibility of keeping appointments made with any of our health
& wellbeing, and medical services.
IWC has an
SMS reminder system around appointments, and our receptionists also telephone –
prior to the due appointment - any patient / client who has not confirmed.
As of 2017,
IWC has been required to introduce a policy around Did Not Attend (DNA)
appointments, which is where a patient / client fails to attend a scheduled
appointment without cancelling within the required timeframe (see table).
clients recorded as a Did Not Attend (DNA) in our Medical and Health,
Specialist or Allied Health areas three times within a 12-month period will be
placed on a Fees List Register, which requires payment of a deposit (see table)
prior to any future booking. Within the IWC Dental Practice, failure to attend
two appointments within a 12-month period will place a patient / client on its
Fees Register List.
